Agricultural Support Specialist

We are currently looking for an Agricultural Support Specialist to join Chippindale, our award winning egg packing site in Flaxby, close to Harrogate, Knaresborough and York. You will work as part of our production department and will be responsible for ensuring all egg production is of the highest standard and fully compliant with both industry and Morrison’s standards.

You will be the frontline representative of the business on farms, supporting and advising on best practice to maximise quality egg production from each flock. Ensuring you are seen as a subject matter expert in your field to build strong and lasting relationships with our Farmers. This role will have a field based aspect getting out to our farmers and producers.

You will be responsible for:

• Provide technical advice, support and assistance to producers, in particular relating to legislation, bird husbandry, feed selection, house design and general business advice
• Understanding producers' business, their needs and requirements, and ensure we plan our support appropriately
• Ensure our sourcing delivers on our policies on animal welfare, quality and responsible sourcing
• Attract new production to join us, by ensuring we hold a high reputation across the industry
• Communication and development of the supply forecast, enabling an accurate sales plan ensuring the best value for the business
• Develop a 2 year sourcing strategy which safeguards our supply of eggs for the future
• Review grading results and monitor egg quality to feedback to producers
