Thetford Garden Centre was founded in the town centre in 1982 by Jean & Paul Nixon. With no previous experience in retail or horticulture they managed to build up a thriving business.

Full Time - including alternate weekends.

We have a fantastic vacancy available for an Aquatics assistant to join our amazing team. If you have a taste for tropical, an enthusiasm for fish and a real can-do attitude this role could be for you.

Experience in keeping fish or working within the aquatics industry is essential to this role but all applications will be considered.

The role also extends to our pet department as well and candidates must have a passion and drive to learn in this area. Experience in this sector is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties will include:

• To maintain all systems within aquatics department including, cleaning of tanks, pumps and equipment for cold-water, tropical and pond
• To ensure the wellbeing of our livestock is the highest priority and that we are adhering to Norfolk Council licensing expectations.
• To identify any health issues immediately to the Line Manager and deal with them in a timely manner.
• To work closely with your other team members to continue to strategise and improve both the pets and aquatics department making our customer service second to none.

Hours of Work:

Monday & Tuesdays 8.45am - 5.30pm

Wednesdays 8.45am - 6pm

Friday - short week 8.45 - 6pm & long week 11am - 8pm
