The role

As an Assistant Software Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join our software discipline and work in the Future Capabilities team to build on the early success and grow the team to meet our ambitions, you will perform hands-on development work with the opportunity to see your work come to life, helping us deliver our technology roadmap that stretches across multiple domains

Day to day, you’ll work on a wide range of communication and integration themed innovation projects ranging from embedded prototypes to autonomous mobile robots and the identification and exploitation of new technologies.

Essential experience of the Assistant Software Engineer,

• Ability to conduct database design (using for example Entity Framework and entity models)
• Coding skills in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Javascript or Python
• Experience with database systems (for example SQL, T-SQL or others)
• Experience in web applications, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Services
• Experience with UI frameworks such as: WPF, MAUI & BLAZOR

This role provides hybrid working with one day per week in the office and the rest working from home.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
