Baker - Part Time

We're looking to hire an experienced baker to work overnight shifts in our Kings Heath bakery, preparing the breads and pastries for both The Early Bird Bakery & Perch. You'd work 2 shifts a week, up to 16 hours, one of these shifts will need be a weekend shift.

You'd be baking off the sourdough bread, olive bread, croissants and other pastries, bagels, cakes. You'd be working alone for the first few hours, with another team member joining from around 4/5am who will finish off the pastries and cake decorating.

You would be required to mix, shape, prove and bake the sourdough and bagels, however the pastries will already be ready and in the prover, so you'd just be required to bake these off.

You'd work from 11pm to 7.30am, everything needs to be ready to go to our Perch site at 7am. We are building a new pastry/bakery kitchen which will be ready in the next 3 months - once this is available there will be more flexibility with the hours, so you could start from 3am to around 11am instead if this is preferable.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
• Experience with making bagels and sourdough breads would be beneficial but not essential
• Good time management
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and delegate tasks
