We are looking to employ a bank of Behaviour Support Workers to join our dedicated short break team. You will provide support, in the form of short breaks, to young people with a disability and/or learning difficulty aged 0-25 years and their families across the East Riding. The short breaks may take place within the home or out in the community, engaging in different social activities. Workers will be highly motivated and have a passion for supporting and empowering young people and their families. They should have the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to work with an individual child on a one-to-one basis, two to one basis or in a small group, many of the young people display challenging behaviour.
The rate of pay is £10.93 per hour (plus rolled up annual leave, which equates to £12 per hour) In addition to this mileage is currently paid at 45p per mile & 50p per mile when transporting a young person or colleague. Working hours are predominantly evenings, weekends and during the day in school holidays, therefore a flexible approach to working is essential. We have sessions available ranging from 6 hours per week up to 30 hours per week.
