Due to the ongoing success of our in-house butchery department in Kennys Foodfare, Newtownabbey, we are looking to recruit an additional butcher. Kennys Foodfare, Ballyclare Road, (beside Corrs Corner Roundabout) is the newest addition to the Kenny’s convenience stores group operating across the Province.

As an instore butcher you will:

• Set up the butchery counter on a daily basis ensuring the highest standard of presentation and cleanliness
• Produce a variety of meat products, including sausages, burgers, roasts as per the seasonal needs of the business
• Prepare, cut, weigh and wrap butchery and prepack items for the counter and chilled display cabinets
• Serve customers on the butchery counter
• Monitor and rotate stock to ensure minimal wastage.
• Date check and review products on a daily basis
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the butchery counter and preparation area at all times by carrying out regular cleaning throughout your shift.
• Receive deliveries, pack into fridge and record accordingly
• Ensure at all times compliance of all relevant regulations including HACCP / EHO and FSA standards.
• Monitor stock of counter and display cabinets, restocking as necessary

We are looking for a butcher with the following skills and experiences:

· Proven experience within the butchery trade with good product knowledge, cutting and preparation skills,

· Excellent Customer service skills and a good communicator

· Good understanding of stock control process and procedures.

· A working knowledge of HACCP/EHO and health/safety procedures,

Hours: Start between 8am and 10am to finish: 5pm to 7pm: You will be required to work Saturday on a rota basis. Salary will be dependant on experience.
