Derby City Council People’s Directorate is seeking a Casework Support Officer to provide administrative support to the Social Care Teams based at the Council House.

We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to work within a busy team providing comprehensive administrative support to social care staff and Managers.

It is essential that you have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times in the work you will be undertaking. You will act as the first point of contact for incoming calls to the teams, so it is essential that you have good communication skills and are comfortable in speaking to members of the public. You will also be actively involved in the updating of the inhouse systems and once fully knowledgeable of these systems, will assist workers and managers with queries etc. You will need to have a high level of administrative experience in the same or a very similar environment, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.

Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.

Quick Tip! Remember to align your personal statement to the Essential Criteria in the Person Specification

The closing date for this vacancy is Wednesday 21st June 2023 at midnight. Any applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.
