Childcare Worker

With the Swift Childcare apprenticeship, you'll get a deep dive into a range of subjects such as: development, paediatric first aid, health and safety and many more. These are all areas that are fundamentals within the early years sector. Learning as you go, this business needs someone just like you to further enhance their setting and you'll have the chance to put everything you learn into action, with the support of our assessors, your employer and of course, the other apprentices. The main responsibilities of this job role will include:

• Working towards Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
• Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
• Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun.
• Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children
• Supporting children’s learning and development.
• Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
• Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
• Supporting children’s self-help needs.
• Being creative and enthusiastic.
• Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.
• Working within the early years curriculum to provide new activities for the children
• Providing new activities for the children
• Tidying the nursery
• Preparing the children for school and taking those next steps
• indoor and Outdoor activities.

This nursery in Highgate has been open since 2004 and is situated in beautifully converted church buildings near Dartmouth Park Hill. With open plan layouts for the main rooms and large secure gardens*, there is plenty of light and space for explorative, creative and educational play whatever the age group.

As well as the well-resourced play rooms and baby room, they have a calm and quiet cot room, a preschool classroom and a professional kitchen where our on-site chef prepares balanced varied and nutritious meals for the children daily. Everyone at this nursery is focused on putting the needs of the children first; from the on-site chefs cooking fresh and nutritious meals to the highly trained early years workers and fully qualified PGCE, QTS & EYT teachers.

A successful applicant will have

• A passion for childcare
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English
• The Desire to work in a Nursery setting with children aged 0-5
• Some experience in childcare either formal or informal
