About the role

We are seeking an Operations Engineer with either Azure or SQL Server experience to join our fast-growing team. This position is mostly a remote role based anywhere in the UK. However, we require you to attend monthly company events (near Leeds) and possible client visits.

Customer Support & Service Delivery

One of the key aspects of the role will be to assist new and existing customers on their journey to the public cloud from either on-prem or other private or public cloud services and to deploy new environments or services.

Ekco xTEN provides a first-class service to customers, providing responsive, agile support. Another one of your responsibilities is to respond to customers’ needs including incident management, change management and work with our account managers to ensure the customers enjoy an awesome service.

Essential Skills / Experience

• 1-3 years’ experience with Public Cloud, (we use Azure), in a production environment
  • Azure Associate Level certification

and/or

• 1-3 years’ experience as a Production DBA
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell preferred)
• Knowledge of infrastructure (compute, storage, networks) both on-prem and in the Cloud
• Exposure to monitoring tools for Azure and Microsoft SQL Server
• Confidence in working directly with customers, gather requirements, creating designs, and completing deployment to meet their technical challenges
• Experience using version control (we use Azure DevOps)
• Experience using service management tools (we use JIRA)

Nice To Haves

• Building and Deploying IaC (we use Terraform)
• Knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework
• Experiencing in performing migrations/upgrades of SQL Server
