Content & Communications Executive

About the role:

Join our small but enthusiastic content team working across two price comparison sites, creating lots of different types of content. Whether it’s working on optimising page copy, writing articles for SEO, creating directory pages, filming videos, editing press releases or helping us launch our brand new podcast, we want someone who is eager to get involved with all things writing and communications.

The Content & Communications Executive will be helping promote our monthly House Price Forecast across news outlets, getting backlinks for our helpful guides and articles, and you’ll join one of our working groups. This is where you can work with other experts in different roles in the company, learning from each other to problem solve and come up with new projects.

This is an entry level role with lots of room to grow, learn and focus on the things that you really enjoy. If you’re a talented and enthusiastic writer and eager to learn more, we want to hear from you!

Please note this is a hybrid role – many of us in the team work remotely, but there will be a need to come into the office for team meetings and projects in St Albans. Please consider this when applying.

About you:

Education/qualifications:

We welcome candidates with or without university degrees. Whilst a related degree in English/Journalism/Marketing is worth mentioning, we are always happy to hear from candidates who have other qualifications or experience. We would like you to be educated to A level with at least 5 GCSEs (English Literature or Language preferred) or equivalent.

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Passionate about writing copy, with experience writing and editing (either professionally or personally).
• Great attention to detail, with the ability to assess your own and others’ work.
• Ability to take feedback and criticism when work is being edited.
• Ability to manage and prioritise your time on tasks of varying sizes/urgencies.
• Solid experience with posting to basic social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Understanding of writing to different audiences and in different formats.
• Enthusiastic to work in a team of likeminded writers, and willing to share ideas.

Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous:

• SEO
• PR
• Marketing/digital marketing
• Video editing
• Podcasting
• Linkbuilding

What to expect from our recruitment process

• HR interview via teams or phone- approx 45 minutes
• Technical and Competency based interview with Content Manager and Senior Content Writer via teams/zoom – approx. 45-60 minutes
• Writing and editing task - remote
• Final interview with Head of Marketing/Content Manager – face to face – approx. 45 minutes
