The Company
Consilium Recruit are working with a world leader in drilling technology for cooling holes as applied to Jet Engines and Gas Turbines for energy production. Due to Growth, they are seeking a Controls Engineer to join the team in a permanent position.
The Controls Engineer Role:

PLC Controller Programming
-
Programming, managing and diagnosing communications between the CNC unit and Machine process control hardware on the EDM, Laser. Camera systems

Develop control of I/O systems
-
User Interface / HMI programming
-
Basic troubleshooting of the control systems used in the production of cooling holes for Turbine blades etc.

Meeting Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
The Person
-
Experience in control systems on machine tools
-
Knowledge industrial automation systems essential with specialist understanding and experience of Beckhoff control systems and hardware.

Understand the principles behind automatic control.

Logical and systematic approach to problem solving. Ability to share this with colleagues and customers alike.

Knowing how to create open-loop and closed-loop control systems that enable the creation of bespoke and accurate control systems.

Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues in an easy to understand manner.

The Control engineer should be particularly attentive, ensuring that any programming or functionality testing they complete is reliable.

Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
