Cost Accountant

We are working alongside a large manufacturing business based in the Bury area who have a well-established brand and are looking to add an experienced Cost Accountant to their current finance team. The business is at the start of an exciting time of development as they have recently had investment and have a clear growth strategy over the next 3 yrs. The role will involve streamlining the current processes, and developing the reporting around the manufacturing and profitability of the site, and looking at adding value and continuity in order for them to reach their goals.

Duties include:

• Develop the full MI reporting pack for all manufacturing activity on site including labour, waste, yield, and production costs
• Produce gross margin analysis based on various KPIs around cost management for different sites within the Group
• Produce all the budget and forecasts for variable costs, and then accurately calculate gross margin
• Monitor all stock variances, movements, valuations, and material usage on a weekly and monthly basis
• Work closely with sales, monitoring customer pricing, product profitability and trends
• Develop the reporting within the ERP system associated with the costing process and modelling

The successful candidate will be:

• Preferably ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified
• At least 3 yrs experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience of a fast-moving business and detailed analysis, with stakeholders at all levels
• Extensive experience of month management report writing, particularly within Excel
• A keen eye for detail outside of the finance function with non-finance personnel
