ABOUT THE ROLE

The post plays a critical role within the Finance Team and the wider
staff at the gallery to ensure that financial processing is recorded,
accurate and dealt with in a timely way.

The Finance Assistant supports the Finance Team with day-to-day
duties and occasionally, the front of house team with general visitor
enquiries.

MAIN DUTIES

• Post the daily Bank transactions to the relative codes in Xero (finance system).
• Make sure the bank is reconciled daily.
• Bank Friends and general Development cheques.
• Liaise with the Development Team regarding different streams of income

the Head of Finance, interrogating where savings could be made when
appropriate dealing with suppliers to get the best rates, or obtaining quotes.

• Reporting any discrepancies or areas to make efficiencies to the Head of

Operations.

• Administer the Finance and Directorate Budget with the Head of Finance.

Director (DD).

• Take responsibility for all cash at the Gallery and any Petty cash Floats. Look

after per diem requests.

• Produce the Monthly Management Accounts file and make sure it is reviewed

and signed bye the DD and HOF.

• HR administration, drafting contracts and letters for staff.
• Ad hoc Finance projects.
• Ad hoc cover for the Gallery’s main reception line, supporting the team with

ticket sales answering general enquiries

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Experience working in a Finance Department
• Proven ability to work simultaneously on multiple, time-sensitive projects,

Annual Leave:

25 days’ holiday per year, statutory Bank Holidays. The Gallery also offers all staff
two discretionary bonus days as well as their birthday as annual leave

Pension:

The Gallery auto enrols employees into a pension scheme in accordance with Part

Salary:

London Living Wage to £28,000 per annum, pro rata
