Data Analyst

Data Analyst, office based in Hull (Melton HU14 3HJ), salary is up to circa £29,500 (dependent upon experience) plus benefits.

As part of the B&M retail group (£2.3bn), Heron Foods is one of the UK’s fastest growing food retailers with over 300 stores. In 2023 we aim to open a further 20 stores together with a busy refit programme. We are really going places and to continue in our progression we need the right people to help us to build on our success.

Due to business growth, we are now looking to appoint a Data Analyst to join our team.

As the Data Analyst you will be responsible for developing data outputs and dashboards to drive key business decisions. You will manage master data, based on key performance elements using systems such as Tableau, Alteryx and SQL and will produce, analyse and maintain information for various departments within the Store Support Centre and Retail management field team.

Additional responsibilities:-

• Monitoring performance of key business elements (e.g. sales and product performance, department spend, cost performance) and producing quality control plans to identify improvements.
• Working with the Analytical Manager to prioritise business and information needs.
• Identifying, analysing, and interpreting key performance measures and trends in data sets.
• Conducting full lifecycle of analysis to include requirements, activities and design.
• Communicating with internal stakeholders regarding project requirements, interpretation of data, and the development of recommendations based on findings.
• Completing data management necessary for multiple projects and department functions.
• Ensuring performance data is extracted promptly and kept up to date.
• Gathering feedback from internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and to ensure initial requirements were attained.
• Supporting data audits as necessary and assisting with the implementation of changes resulting from the audit.

Successful candidates will need to show professional experience in a similar role using SQL to query large data sets from various databases. Tableau experience is preferred however training can be given.
