DESIGNER / CAD TECHNICIAN

A new opportunity has arisen for a Designer / CAD Technician to join a fast growing, high end architectural glazing company that works on the design, manufacture and installation of glass window and door systems, structural glass and architectural glazing. The company works with architects, interior designers, property developers, contractors, and private clients on a wide variety of projects and is the UK partner for leading brands in the industry.

We are looking for a freelance or part-time/full time candidate - the role will be new for the company, so initial hours would be on a part-time basis but with opportunity to grow into full time. This can be discussed as part of the application process.

Applicants will need have strong AutoCAD/Sketch Up skills and experience working with glass / structural glass.

The role will be a mix of office based and remote working – with the office based in Surbiton, UK (therefore you must be within a commutable distance to this location).

Designer / CAD Technician Position Overview

• Produce detailed 2D elevations and drawings for glazing projects
• Liaise with the sales/survey team and client to understand the project requirements
• Assist and interpret project surveys
• Attend Site Visits when needed
• Prepare 2d elevations and drawings for the team/client, and prepare relevant information to assist in the manufacture of goods for projects
• This is a new role for the company, so chosen applicant will have the opportunity to establish the role and ways of working
• Demonstrate a passion and or desire to excel and to bring that enthusiasm into the office environment

Designer / CAD Technician Position Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD/Sketch Up and Microsoft Office 365
• Experience working with glass/structural glass or career experience at a glass company
• Geometry/structural knowledge and ability to sketch freehand would be an advantage
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Visa to work in the UK
• Living within a commutable distance of Surbiton, UK
• Ability to work well in a team
• Good client facing skills

Designer / CAD Technician Position Remuneration

• Competitive salary (open to discussion and dependent on experience)
