Director of AI

Adarga's platform, powered by natural language processing and network science technology, is currently supporting mission-critical decision-making across defence and national security in the UK, as well as expanding into new sectors.

What will you be doing?

• Own the AI and ML Ops initiatives within Adarga.
• Work with your peers in engineering and product to continuously improve our core product.
• Manager of managers for data scientists and machine learning engineers. Work with them to identify career progression and development opportunities.
• Keep track of the evolving AI landscape to make sure we use the relevant SOTA models and ML techniques to improve our product.
• Join occasional customer calls to understand their use cases and identify improvements.
• Ensure adherence to responsible AI practices.
• Hire, coach and retain the best data scientists and machine learning engineers.
• Plan and execute Data Science IP strategy.

Essential Requirements

• MS/PhD or equivalent in a quantitative discipline.
• Strong experience in leading AI/ML teams, technical & people management. Should have managed line managers.
• Excellent Python & software engineering skills. Experience in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in end-to-end deployment of ML models.
• Experience in Natural Language Processing.
• Working with engineering & product teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

• Understanding of Knowledge Graphs & LLMs
• Experience in filing patents or managing IP strategy.
• Participation in fundraising for VC backed companies would be highly advantageous
• Previous experience of working with defence & national security customer.
• Experience in public speaking
• Willing to be a tech advocate for Adarga supporting with written content and speaking engagements
