About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK & Ireland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.

Salary: £37,000 - £56,000 + a range of benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSE Heat Network’s vision is to become the most trusted zero carbon heat network developer and operator in the UK .

We design, build, finance and operate low carbon heating, cooling and power networks. As well as responding to tendered opportunities, we also develop our own projects aiming to build the new heat networks infrastructure which will support the UK’s transition to Net Zero.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing business as a Junior Project Development Manager. You will be responsible for leading the development of new district energy solutions to address customer’s requirements within SSE Heat Network’s key target markets which include new build and retrofit projects for private and public sector clients. We have an exciting portfolio of projects which will only grow as we help our clients achieve their urgent net zero goals.

You will be joining an experienced team who work closely with clients and other project stakeholders and lead SSE’s internal teams to provide innovative technical and commercial solutions.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the Project Action Tracker, working closely with the team
• Managing progress meetings, preparation and minuting in some instances
• Driving the overall programme
• Supporting schedule (P6) meetings, month ahead etc.
• Governance and assurance tracking, working with our Project Management Office (PMO) and LCP Services

What do I need?

The Project Manager will have demonstrable experience of a Project Manager role in large, complex, capital projects.

• Organisational skills are a must; programme & scheduling experience is advantageous but not essential. E.g., the project team consists of a Planner using Primavera P6.
• Experience of managing extensive governance deliverables.
• Existing familiarity with SSE’s LCP framework would be advantageous but not essential.
• You will be a central Team Player and highly personable, able to quickly build and manage diverse relationships with stakeholders. W
• You will have a high proficiency of MS Office / OS365 as outputs are in Word and Excel.
• Experience of the Energy sector is advantageous but is not essential.
