EFL Teacher (Summer Programme)

Meridian School of English (part of Tellus Education Group) are recruiting EFL teachers for an online summer programme starting on 10th July 2023 to 21stAugust 2023 inclusive, with possible classes continuing after this date.

This is a remote position, teaching English online, to children aged between 5 - 12 years of age for 30 minutes per session Monday to Friday in small groups of up to 6 students.

There are various time slots, you do not have to be available for all of them as we can work around you, please see below:

10:00 to 10:30, 10:40 to 11:10, 11:20 to 11:50, 12:00 to 12:30, 12:40 to 13:10,

13:20 to 13:50, 14:00 to 14:30.

We work closely with our teachers and students to create a warm, fun, and friendly environment that fosters development and teamwork.

Flexible working

We aim to match classes to suit your schedule, so applicants who meet our criteria will initially be asked to complete an availability survey. Interviews will be held as per the needs of the school’s capacity.

We need high-calibre teachers therefore applicants must have:

• Either a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL Certificate (Please note that we do not currently accept alternatives)
• Educated to Degree Level
• We also need you to speak at least C2 English.
• UK based.
• Tech Confident

You must have:

• 1+ year English teaching experience (preferred, but not essential)
• An Enthusiastic and professional approach to teaching
• Experience teaching online (preferred, but not essential)
• Ability to motivate students
• Great communication and presentation skills.

Technical Requirements:

• Robust internet connection (Ideally 20Mbps)
• An up-to-date Windows PC/laptop or MAC with min 8GB RAM and fast processor (i5 etc.)
• A webcam, and a headset with microphone
• A quiet room

Please note that teaching from alternative devices such as iPads, Chromebooks or mobile devices is not permitted.

Job Type: Zero hours contract

Salary: Up to £14.64 per hour
