Location: Hybrid between remote and 1 London Bridge with expectation to visit other sites in the HCA group.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 2-2.5 years dependent upon project completion

EHR Clinical Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We are excited to be recruiting a team of Subject Matter Experts within the Pharmacy workstream.

Pharmacy Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) plays a key role in ensuring that the EHR programme accurately captures and responds to clinical and operational needs, translating current workflows into the digital arena, while keeping the patient centre and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Pharmacist Subject Matter Expert brings experience and acumen to the programme, having worked a and progressed for 5 years post-registration in U.K. hospital acute medical and surgical clinical pharmacy, in secondary and tertiary care centres.

The postholder will work with the EHR pharmacy team and with the wider programme team to support the EHR roll out and transformation of HCA to new digital systems and technologies

Key responsibilities include:

• Reporting to HCA’s Pharmacy Change Lead, accountable for the progress against the Pharmacy workstream KPIs for scope, map, design, test, implement, evaluation of the new EHR system.
• As the Hospital Pharmacist SME, you will undertake process mapping of all current (‘as-is’) workflows, including (not exhaustive) medicines prescribing, clinical pharmacy, dispensing, audit and other related processes across the HCA U.K. group. This will involve meeting with colleagues at sites, as well as undertaking observation studies and documentation of ways of working.
• Participate in designing new workflows, ways of working and content design of the complex pharmacy services for patient and users, within the new EHR programme.
• Work with business analysts to specify the required system configurations in order to assure safe and effective systems of care.
• Participate in the testing and checking of pathways before transfer to the new live EHR system.
• Contribute to the on-going development of related processes, standards and procedures, ensuring that all pharmacy-related pathways are consistent, fit for purpose and appropriate within the environments where patients are cared for.

Successful candidates will need:

• Degree Qualification or equivalent experience; Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

• Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience across specialities (including surgical, medical, ICU, transplant)
• Clinical pharmacy: Inpatient and Outpatient experience
• Organization development: understanding of the requirements of an information culture and emerging technologies
• Clinical pharmacy service delivery, including participation in MDTs across acute care specialties, in UK hospitals.
• Experience of acting as a key contributor to clinically based digital projects

It will be advantageous to have been involved in implementation of an EHR system in healthcare industry.
