Electrical Engineer

Howdens are looking for an Electrical Engineer based at Howdens Work Surfaces to provide breakdown, preventative maintenance cover and installation work throughout the site.

The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship and possess a background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with experience in a proactive safety environment.

Pay rate: £43,807.40 + monthly production bonus

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 8:00 - 16:30, with the requirement to back fill shift electricians where necessary

The role:

• Proactive and preventative maintenance
• Reactive breakdown maintenance
• Continual improvement projects
• Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
• Supporting and engaging with lean manufacturing techniques to work effectively with PLC programmes
• Assist with day to day running of the engineering depart including planning and being proxy for maintenance manager in their absence.

Key skills and experience required:

• Fault finding, corrective actions and root cause analysis
• Control and automation systems, including Siemens s7 PLC, Beckhoff PLC, Pilz Safety PLC and Mitsubishi PLC
• Working with computerised maintenance management systems
• Must be able to work under pressure especially when breakdowns arise and production levels are high
