At L3Harris in Brighton we are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We specialise in high performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology for airborne weapon carriage release.

As an Electrical Engineering Placement, you will be working within a dedicated project team, undertaking design tasks while being mentored by senior engineers. You will also be responsible for supporting with varied engineering tasks including circuit design, modeling, simulation, PCB layout, system test, verification, EMC analysis and testing.

This role provides fantastic opportunities to develop skills in technical and professional areas, gain an understanding of working environments and valuable experience whilst making a difference.

What you can expect

• To gain key experiences of working within a multi-disciplined design team on complex Aerospace and Defence projects
• Taking ownership of design tasks within a large project
• Developing innovative electrical solutions to meet customer specifications
• Integrating electrical controls with mechanical and pneumatic systems

What you’ll bring

• A minimum of 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualification) with grades of C or above (including Maths)
• Pursuing a degree in a relevant subject with a predicted final grade of 2:1 or 1st
• Design, prototyping and testing of analogue and digital circuits
• Use of Altium Designer or similar package for schematic capture and PCB design
• Modeling using LTSpice or similar package
• Use of laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers
• Programing experience including Arduino, LabVIEW, VHDL
