Join our Employment and Training team as an Employment Coach

The Employment and Training Team provide an exciting and comprehensive range of opportunities which give our customers and the wider community the skills, qualifications and confidence to get into work in a very competitive jobs’ market.

This role sits within One Housing Academy, that was developed to improve and support professional development within the housing sector. It is a non-for-profit enterprise and all income from One Academy is invested back into One Housing Foundation to help deliver:

• Training for our residents
• Employment support including our new mentoring programme
• Youth educational and community programmes
• Volunteering and outreach programmes tackling both loneliness and social isolation, and building strong communities
• Care and support services for vulnerable and homeless people.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Employment Coach in Camden, London.

Salary: £32000
Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week
Location: Hybrid. 2 or 3 days in the office with the rest working from home. You must be prepared to be flexible and travel to other offices in London when required

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering a service for One Housing tenants and supported customers offering access to employment, work placements, training and apprenticeship opportunities.
• Carrying out in-depth assessments with clients and developing SMART action plans linked to personal development, employability skills and career development
• Building rapport and relationships with customers to uncover barriers to employment and pro actively support their progress
• Develop effective communication and partnership opportunities with Job Centre plus, housing associations and external agencies that support employment and training
• Maintain effective partnerships with One Housing customer facing teams such as Resident Engagement Officers, Housing Officers, Income and customer service team to promote the E&T service offer and increase referrals
• Maintain accurate monitoring information in line with performance objectives and KPIs

• Have an ability to build effective relationships with customers, demonstrate empathy, inspire confidence, motivate and build self-esteem.
• Have knowledge of the issues and barriers facing people who are unemployed and economically inactive.
• Have expert knowledge relating to CVs, covering letters, application forms, and interview technique
• Be able to demonstrate ability to provide employment support, advice and guidance.
• Have experience of generating and managing a customer caseload and keeping up to date records
