JC Unique Wholesale is one of the biggest fashion handbags, purses and accessories wholesalers in the area. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Fashion Designer to join the team with the passion and confidence.

You will be responsible for assisting in the development of customer and market focused product collections each season that are in line with the company strategy for the brand. You will be researching trends, new materials, trims and colour palettes and designing new products incorporating your original ideas. You will be providing technical drawings for suppliers, finalising the approved designs and samples for production. You will be working closely with the buying team to ensure fit and aesthetics meet brand requirements. This is a hands on role which may also involve extensive research of both consumer trends and also sourcing of new product components. 3D CAD experience a bonus. Customer facing experience would also be advantageous.

You are also expected to support senior manager to develop potential customers and expanding business, such as create stock sheets, contact customers, liaise with suppliers etc.

You must:

• be able to produce high quality work to targets and under pressure to produce our new season ranges
• have an eye for colour and texture
• be confident in presenting your designs formally and informally with clear instructions for manufacture
• have practical knowledge and experience of textile materials and production methods
• have a flair for design with great creativity and imagination
• be commercially astute, with experience of product component costs and price limitations when developing and working towards meeting target costs of a product.
• able to produce original ideas based on upcoming trends in order to stay ahead of the market
• be able to work without supervision but be part of a team, embrace the full design and development process
• have a complete understanding of importing and in particular Fashion accessories
• Competitor product research
• be involved with marketing, PR and social media campaigns and prepare power point presentations and images for these
• Any other tasks which are deemed as reasonable responsibilities included within the team.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week

Salary: £20,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
