The apprenticeship training with be with us – Swarm Training, a national provider of apprenticeships through the UK. You will have 20% of your time set aside for paid apprenticeship self-studies with tutor support.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This role will be to support all areas of the Finance function helping with General Ledger, Credit Control and Stock. Through the Finance apprenticeship you will develop a range of logical and analytical skills, learning how Finance works in practice and combining learning daily with the XMA team.

The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Finance or Accounts apprenticeship which involves an AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there is the potential for development into a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILTIES

This role will provide the opportunity to learn and experience all aspects of Finance including these duties:

• Ad hoc support to all finance functions
• Ad hoc balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Bank statement reconciliations and cashbook postings, identifying any discrepancies.
• Contacting customers to obtain missing information and update the system.
• Daily reporting to Banking Institutions
• Daily sort of mail
• Daily stock reconciliations
• Daily uploading invoices on customer portal
• Month end Direct Debit customer payment input.
• Posting and allocation of cash receipts
• Raising of manual invoices and credit notes

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 GCSEs at grade C / 4 or above including Math’s and English
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook)
• Diligent, honest and collaborative
• High attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise.
• Enthusiasm to learn and work hard.
• Demonstrates initiative.
• Confident communicator
• Highly organised
• Proactive

SALARY & WORKING WEEK

Salary is £15,000 per annum (in the second year of an apprenticeship over 19 years of age or if you take on a full-time role, rules state, you will have to be paid at least minimum wage)
