The Rivers Trust is a leading environmental charity and the umbrella body of The Rivers Trust movement, comprising over 60 independent local charities. Our vision is for wild, healthy, natural rivers, valued by all. We are at a critical point in our history as we expand to deliver projects to protect and replenish this critical part of the natural environment, and our research and expertise is now needed more urgently than ever as water supply and quality move up the public agenda.
We are looking for a proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team and play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial processes as the organisation continues to grow.
There will be a wide range of responsibilities including pension scheme administration and general team support.
This is a brand new, part-time role of 25 hours per week due to expansion of the organisation, to start as possible. We are anticipating a working pattern of five hours per day, Monday to Friday, probably between 10am and 3pm although this is subject to negotiation. It could work well for someone looking to combine their job around school runs, although during busy periods such as financial year-end or to help provide cover for colleagues on holiday we may ask you to work extra hours, for which time back can be claimed.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be based in our Stoke Climsland office three days per week and home based two days per week. Computer and mobile phone to be supplied by the Rivers Trust. Familiarity with Sage accounting software and Microsoft Office would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be joining a welcoming and committed team of people, including a mixture of long-serving and new employees. We are looking for an individual who is motivated by providing excellent finance support to help advance the cause of the Rivers Trust. This is a great opportunity for a finance assistant role which contributes to the improvement and restoration of the natural water environment.
The salary for the job is £17,707 per year (for working 25 hours per week) based on Grade 3 £26,560 FTE
