Finance Assistant (Remote)

Finance Assistant will primarily be responsible for daily and monthly DST finance tasks, including billing, cash application, month end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and credit control. This role will also require providing support within the department to the Senior Manager Accounting and Finance and Staff Accountant.

Role, Responsibilities, & Duties

• Daily revenue recognition checks with the objective of revenue recognition compliance
• Daily treasury duties: recording cash and bank transactions
• Perform bank reconciliations at month end/year end
• Maintain Cash Collection and distribution of sales invoices for DST entity
• Perform monthly prepayments for both UK entities
• Month end duties for UK DST and LT entity, maintain intercompany transaction and perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist internal and external customers with invoice related queries
• Assist with providing information for SOX, group, and statutory audits
• Provide assistance to Senior Manager Accounting and Finance and Staff Accountant when required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• General ledger experience is essential; Sales ledger and Purchase ledger experience is desirable.
• Experience in cash and banking, documenting payments received and cash allocation.
• AAT/CAT student or first stage of ACCA/CIMA study is preferable.
• Numeracy and familiarity with accounting principles is required.
• Must have strong data entry skills.
• General IT skills and familiarity with accounting software is preferable. Strong excel skills are also required.
• The successful candidate for this role will be self-motivated, proactive, and self-reliant with strong organisational skills.
• Must have the ability to analyse and compile data from various accounting systems or other business sources.
• Problem solving skills are essential.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills. Must have the ability to discuss customer issues over the phone, email, and face to face. The ability to respond to a difficult customer, and properly address any issues.
• Ability to work in a team is essential as is the importance of adherence to deadlines.
