Freelance Sewing Machinist (London)

We are a Pattern Cutting and sampling studio, we started 4 years ago and we are looking to grow our team

We are looking for an experienced freelance sewing machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in machining and fabrication, and be able to work with a variety of materials. The successful candidate will be able to read. We are looking for an individual who is able to work independently from their own space or happy for our studio to be used. We are based in South East London - Deptford

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
• Maintain and repair machinery and equipment.
• Follow, sketches, drawings and patterns, to make a garment from start to finish.
• Select the appropriate tools and machines, be used in preparation of machining.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions to determine the cause of errors.
• Adhere to safety regulations regarding use of the sewing machine.
• Use a sewing machine and overlocker to create clothing items from start to finish.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
