Garden Centre - Retail Assistant

Meadow Grange Nursery is a large garden centre and nursery situated in Whitstable across two sites. The retail site has an extensive indoor area and with over 4 acres of plant area. We employ staff who are dedicated to horticulture and who are passionate about customer service. Meadow Grange Nursery is currently going through an exciting time of expansion and we are looking for a talented individual to work with us.

Function: To work within the indoor retail area with day-to-day tasks. A typical day will include, serving customers on the tills, creating displays, putting out stock, helping customers with goods to their cars. Answering horticulture related questions. This is a manual role and does involve lifting and carrying.

Person specification:

· Horticulture background in retail or similar

· Experience in a retail (Essential)

· Hard working person who can multitask

· An individual who can manage lifting and carrying.

· Great customer service.

· Work unsupervised and as part of a team.

· Great Communication skills

· Good understanding of Health and safety

· Clean driving licence with the ability to drive vans.

· Can do attitude.

Responsible to: Shop Manager

Hours of work: 42.5 hours per week

Salary: Dependant on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £10.42 per hour
