General Assistant

The Lakes Aquarium are currently seeking enthusiastic and flexible team members to work in our busy cafes, retail shops and front of house. The main responsibilities for this role include:

• Customer service and ensuring a rewarding visit
• Serving Starbucks coffee
• Preparing food
• Merchandising and stock replenishment
• Selling tickets
• Operating tills
• Maintaining cleanliness
• Assisting customers with enquiries.

Applicants should understand the importance of excellent customer service as this is essential for this role. Experience of basic food safety, preparation and/ or café experience would be an advantage but is not essential. However, full training would be provided including Food Safety.

The successful applicant will benefit from free entry to our sister attractions; local and national zoos and aquariums. This includes attractions such as Windermere Lake Cruises, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, Blackpool Zoo and many more!

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary contract, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 4-30 per week

Salary: £7.20-£10.00 per hour
