Job Description
Part of the Fred. Olsen Ltd group of companies since 1952, Forrest Estate is a 4300 hectare estate in St Johns Town of Dalry, Castle Douglas. The concept is to create a long-term commercial forest while enhancing rural employment.
Over the years there has been significant investment with diversification into hydro-electric power, tourism, field sports and importantly the development of Natural Power, expert consultants to the international renewable energy industry.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our small but dedicated team. As the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a variety of manual tasks around the estate to assist in the day-to-day running of the business. You will be a strong communicator across all levels and flexible in your approach to getting the job done. You will be a team player, keen to play your part and encourage others to do the same.
Given the nature and location of the role, you will be in possession of a full, clean driving licence and your own transport. Previous experience within forestry, agriculture or construction is a minimum requirement. We would be especially interested to hear from candidates with the following licences/experience:
Chainsaw operations
Spraying
Planting
Brushcutters
Industrial mowers
4x4’s
ATV’s
UTV’s
Tractor Drivers
Excavator Drivers - Rough terrain/Agricultural Engineering/Forestry Engineering
Forwarder Operation
Harvester Operation
Road Workers
Plant fitters
Forwarder Operation
Harvester Operation
Road Workers
Plant fitters
Full training will be given to the successful candidate and remuneration will be based on skills and experience.
Please note: This is an on-going vacancy and successful candidates will be appointed in a time frame to meet the seasonal requirements of the Company.
