One of the leading suppliers on the UK high street are growing rapidly and looking to appoint a Girlswear Designer, reporting into the Design & Sales Manager. This is a brilliant role for a talented Girlswear Designer to work within a fun and dedicated working environment, offering thorough training and progression.
The designer will be responsible for:
- Colour, trend and market research
- Work to briefs, liaising with and meeting customers
- Liaising with the Far East office and factory
- Able to design to a price point for the value customer base
- Understanding of long lead products
- Developing commercial yet forward thinking fashion ranges
- Able to work to a fast pace
- Be a great team player
The ideal childrenswear designer will have:
- Experience on Girlswear, working on Leisurewear & Outerwear
- Some experience on womenswear would be an advantage
- Excellent CAD skills – illustrator and photoshop skills are essential
- Experience on CLO 3D would be an advantage
- Superb communication and presentation skills.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role is required
- Some graphic knowledge / experience
- Ability to develop rapport with buyers
- Knowledge of garment construction and specs
- Experience working with Far East factories
- Experience working with fast fashion (e.g. Primark) or supermarkets
This role is based in a central London office, in a super friendly fast paced environment, where a Designer can grow and flourish. This role is hybrid 3 days in the office/2 days at home
