A LITTLE ABOUT US

5dB is situated in an industrial Victorian courtyard in West London. Within the courtyard of a commercial space that houses recording studios, production companies and artists of various genres, we opened a Canteen in 2021 focusing on daily lunch service for the tenants and their guests to gather and dine.

We are now expanding and opening a bakery onsite to provide the canteen with artisan bread, breakfast treats and desserts daily as well as sandwiches over lunch. In addition, we will start to accept online orders for wholesale and home bread delivery.

The bakery, while not directly client facing, will be equally as important as the existing Canteen in day-to-day operations.

THE BAKERY SPACE

The bakery space itself is newly fitted with everything necessary for production. Expanding into the online retail market is a new concept for us and we expect the daily output will fluctuate based on internal events being hosted as well as pre-orders received.

To begin, the baking hours will be 4:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU

As Head Baker, you will have the independence to run all aspects of this space, reporting to the Head
Chef. You should be able to demonstrate the following skills at interview:

• Have worked as a head baker before in a quality food environment, baking fresh daily.
• Ability to coordinate, plan, produce and prepare all elements of the baking from start to finish with/without set recipes and including the ability to mould by hand.
• Ability to scale recipes as needed
• Menu planning based on seasonal ingredients and dietary restrictions.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have an eye for detail – ensuring everything looks as it should both within the bakery walls as well as the product delivered.
• Have experience of kitchen health & safety, food safety and administrative tasks.
• Have managed supplier relationships.
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the energy and passion to bring this project to life.
