Gressingham Foods are recruiting for a new Head of Agriculture, to drive forward the UK’s leading duck and Turkey supplier.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will have the autonomy to manage a large farming estate of owned and contract farms growing both Duck and Turkey. You will get strong support from a family board of Directors.

This full-time role, based in East Anglia is suited to someone who has a strong knowledge of livestock and experience of liaising with various governing bodies and customers. The successful candidate needs to have strong leadership skills taking responsibility for the financial & operational performance of our farming estate. There is an opportunity to be appointed as a director in the future.

Requirements of the Position

• Livestock experience essential.
• A good working knowledge of, or experience in agricultural supply chain
• Ability to build strong relationships with contract farmers, customers, and staff.
• Proven negotiation skills and a strong understanding of personnel management to inspire confidence and create trust.
• A clear communicator
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
• Self-motivated, reliable and a willingness to learn and constantly improve.
