We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to play a vital role in the laboratory by supporting the Biomedical Scientists in a wide range of laboratory duties including the preparation of clinical samples, registration of patient information onto the pathology computer system and involvement in the centralised telephone enquiry service.
The Laboratory operates a 7 day working week and the applicant will be required to work 37.5 hours per week based on a shift system including a requirement to work at weekends and bank holidays
There are some permanent positions available and some fixed term roles available until end of March 2024 and one fixed term role available until end of October 2023. If successful, roles will be allocated in merit order.
Security Clearance Level Requirement:
Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Basic Personnel Security Standard
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours/Strengths/Ability
As part of the application process you will be asked to provide a Personal Statement / Statement of Suitability (in no more than 500 words)
This should outline how you consider your skills, experience and achievements, provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with particular reference to the essential criteria outlined.

STAGE 1 - APPLICATION & SIFT:
You will be required to complete an application form. This will be assessed in line with the advertised criteria.
If you are successful at this stage, you will progress to interview
STAGE 2 – INTERVIEW
All candidates who are successful at the sift stage will undertake an interview.
All applicants that progress to interview will be assessed on a blended interview against a mixture of Behaviours and Strength elements of Success Profiles.

Prior agreement to be released on a loan basis must be obtained before commencing the application process. In the case of Civil Servants, the terms of the loan will be agreed between the home and host department and the Civil Servant. This includes grade on return.
