Probation Service Officer – GM Homeless Prevention Team (Part Time 0.6 FTE)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the GM Homeless Prevention Team in a specialist PSO role (0.6 FTE) and play an integral role in the delivery of CAS3 across Greater Manchester.
The service is delivered in conjunction with GMCA and all ten GM local authorities.
You will be expected to manage the placement all the CAS3 beds in your identified PDU/ local authority.
This will involve processing all CAS3 referrals and arranging placements.
You will link with accommodation providers, support providers, local authorities housing teams and Probation practitioners.
It is fast paced work, maintaining and developing a new service with national oversight of outcomes delivered.
Overview of the job
The job holder will undertake the full range of work with people on probation before and after sentence. This will include assessment, sentence implementation, offender management and producing reports. The job holder will provide case management support to a full range of people on probation utilising service procedures and practice directions that underpin professional judgement.

To assess and manage the risk (including risk management plans and escalation) posed by people on probation to protect victims of crime and the general public by:

If relevant to the role, some out of hours working may be required (i.e. Courts, Approved Premises, programmes, evening reporting etc.).
