ABOUT THE ROLE.

We have ambitious growth business plans at McCain, but we can’t achieve those without our people. Our HR team play a huge part in driving our winning culture and it’s the role of our HR Specialist to get under the skin of the people behind the potatoes.

As HR Specialist it's your job to work alongside your fellow HR Specialists and our people leaders across our plants (especially Wombourne, Grantham and Whittlesey) to make McCain a great place to work. This covers many elements of HR including recruitment, and day-today HR Employee Lifecycle processes and compliance.

Our ideal candidate will already be living and breathing a HR generalist role so you’ll already have a good idea of what a typical HR specialist role will entail.

Reporting into the HR Delivery Manager for the UK and Central Europe, you will also…

• Support our leaders and employees with employee and labour relations issues (which may include conducting investigations, managing appeals, addressing misconduct, issuing discipline, suspension and/or termination)
• Execute local recruitment initiatives. Manage job requisitions on our recruitment portal (Success Factors), run job events and fairs, proactively source candidates, and manage the local talent pools – with an ongoing focus on early talent
• Manage employee movement and contract management. Including the updating of personal information
• Share insights and trends with key stakeholders to drive more effective and efficient HR service delivery
• Ensure the employee experience is at the centre of everything you do… identify, and implement Continuous Improvement activities, to enhance our HR Processes.

ABOUT YOU.

You’ll be a HR generalist ideally with experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG would be advantageous!) You will also have…

• 
  A professional HR qualification - although we would prefer someone to have experience due to the complexities of a FMCG manufacturing plant
• Solid ER experience, with previous knowledge of managing sickness, absence etc..
• Strong stakeholder management
• Experience of working at pace in a high pressured, and demanding environment
• Strong recruitment experience. Has experience of talent attraction as well as experience of recruiting at pace and volume
• Good administrational skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
• The ability to work well on your own, and self-motivated. A self-start and able to work independently

WHERE WILL I WORK?

You will mostly be based in our Wombourne Plant however you will also cover our Grantham and Whittlesey plant, with monthly presence as and when the business demands. Expenses incurred to Grantham and Whittlesey will be covered.
