At McCain, it's not just about what we make, but it's about the environment that we make it in that's important. And so, we are looking for a Hygiene Operative (Days), to come and join our team to carry out scheduled and specialist cleaning across site and production areas, including production equipment internally and externally. As part of this team you will play a critical role in keeping us Audit Ready and contribute to our pride in the Hull plant.

You will be responsible for:

• 
  Carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled cleaning tasks to the fabric of the buildings and associated equipment including production equipment
• Carrying out specialised cleaning tasks, using some hazardous substances and act on instructions given by Management in accordance with the company’s safety procedures
• Following safe use and storage of hazardous substances in line with company policy
• Using and operating cleaning equipment and cleaning tools, Mobile Electric Work Platforms (MEWP’s) and High Pressure water jetting machine. Assist with the maintenance of hygiene equipment including: high pressure cleaning equipment, wash down hoses and associated equipment across the production areas and site
• Carrying out checks on high pressure cleaning equipment and associated equipment across production areas. Assist in the repair/replacement of wash down hoses and equipment across production areas and site
• Carrying out chemical titration testing of chemical dosing and foaming units across production areas including basic repairs and fitting new dosing units
• Supporting environmental swabbing of surfaces as and when required and carrying out chemical residue testing of surfaces for food safety and verification of cleaning across the site
• Carrying out basic pest control duties in the production areas across site. Removing dead rodent remains as per company procedures
• Ensuring that all personal protective equipment is maintained in good condition and carrying out PPE checks before use
• Ensuring that Health & Safety and Food Safety standards are maintained in all areas of work at all times

Where will I be based?

Our Hull plant is where we make all our cheesy appetites, and even if you think you haven’t tasted our products before, because of our large portfolio of foodservice establishments, it’s likely you probably have! Our small, but perfectly formed team of around 130 make everything from halloumi fries to chilli cheese nuggets.
