Serra Center has been providing community based services to adults with developmental disabilities since 1975. We are currently seeking an Independent Life Skills Instructor to provide support and training in activities of daily living, socialization and community integration.

About the Job:

As a Living Skills Instructor, you will teach 1:1 activities of daily living/life skills to adults with developmental disabilities who reside independently in their own home within the communities of Fremont, Hayward, San Leandro and Livermore.

To empower individuals to live the most independent life desired, examples of teaching you will provide are:

-Money management and budgeting
-Medical, dental, and medication management
-Cooking and meal preparation
-Household maintenance -Utilizing public transportation -Locating affordable housing
-Managing public benefits (Social Security, Medi-Cal, Medicare, etc.)
-Socialization and community involvement

This job provides diverse experience in the areas of social work, social services, community resources, mental health, health care and case management. And you will truly make a difference in the lives of others!

OPEN POSITIONS:

• Full-time and Part-Time schedules
• Your client caseload will consist of 1-6 clients; and be comprised of days, hours and locations based on your availability and client needs

REQUIREMENTS:

• Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance, fingerprinting, pre-employment Physical & TB.
• COVID-19 Vaccination & Booster
• Annual Flu Vaccination
• CA Driver's License and Insured Vehicle
