This role combines learning and practical on the job training. At the end of it all, you'll have a Level 4 qualification in IT Infrastructure. You’ll be fully supported to meet the learning requirements of the qualification.
The higher apprenticeship will be delivered by ALS Training, a leading provider of training, learning and development solutions with over 2,300 Apprentices in learning each week.

This role assists in the running of DVSA's corporate and Cloud infrastructure, helping to provide a high quality service and delivering value for money through the use of in-house resources and specialist and commodity suppliers.
The work takes place across four main areas - EUC (End User Compute), Platform Services, Network Support and Operational support.

To thrive in this role, you will have knowledge of Networks, Cloud Technologies and Desktop Operating systems. You have excellent communication skills in varying circumstances, with the ability to tailor this to your audience.
You are enthusiastic towards learning and development, specifically infrastructure related IT skills.
We are seeking an individual who can pick up new skills with ease, being able to organise your time effectively and balance your work and studies.

To be eligible for this higher apprenticeship, you must:
If you currently hold or are working towards a similar qualification of the same level or higher, then you will not be eligible to apply for this vacancy. In order to be eligible for our higher apprenticeship vacancy, any qualifications previously held or currently being worked towards must differ in content so that this higher apprenticeship provides substantial new skills.

Potential Apprentices should bear in mind that a Higher Apprenticeship combines the challenges of higher level education with full-time employment, and should be prepared for the greater volume and level of study than Level 3 qualifications and Apprenticeships.
Additional Information
You will be fully supported to complete the higher apprenticeship. On completion we will seek to continue your development with the potential of becoming Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
Please note that there will be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations, including overnight stays.
