Full Job Description
Accuflex has an opportunity for a Legal Counsel (3 to 6 years PQE) with strong general commercial experience to work for our client, a global fintech business in London, on a contract basis.
This is a great opportunity to gain in-house experience with the possibility of the right candidate being hired permanently. Any experience of payments or the payment services directive (PSD2) would be valuable.

Responsibilities
- Contract drafting and negotiation on a wide range of agreements. Drafting confidentiality agreements, merchant agreements, delegation agreements, terms and conditions and service agreement.
- Legal and contractual risk management. Identify, control and report on material legal and commercial risks.
- Regulatory support. Providing legal support for projects or financial regulatory changes (EU/FCA regulatory impacts and PSD2).
- Legal Process. Assisting with the production of templates and policies.
- Project work. Support both internal and external projects, providing legal guidance, supporting the achievement of project’s aims.
Experience
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience as a Solicitor or Foreign Qualified Lawyer.
- Excellent UK contract law knowledge, drafting skills and experience in contract negotiation.
- Good understanding of the legal and regulatory risks and compliance processes associated with the financial services industry and FCA regulation.
- Highly desirable to have worked in a Payment Services Directive (PSD2) regulated business, but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Genuinely pro-active and keen to take on responsibility.
- Strong organisational skills.
