Maintenance

As the maintenance person for Oak View Nursing Home, you will be the eyes and ears for the upkeep of inside and outside of the home, including all the grounds. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the residents have a home that is kept warm and comfortable, and that all tasks are undertaken to the highest professional standards. You will be responsible for undertaking these tasks with a warm smile and conversation with the residents.

You will be provided with the work ethics that we expect, and guidance of how the home fulfils its need for each resident.

Your duties include and not limited to:

• Ensure all minor repairs and audit requirements are fixed in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all relevant refuse is removed from the home.
• Ensure all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the home on weekly, monthly, annual basis.
• Liaise with the RI and Home Manager about any issue or potential problems.

· To have an understanding of basic carpentry, basic electrical competence & general DIY including decorating, gardening and external building maintenance.

• Liaise with external contractors and service engineers.
• Have a current UK driving licence.
• Undertake general grounds maintenance duties - ensuring an extremely high standard of work is maintained at all times.
• Duties to include edging, grass cutting, weeding, planting trees, shrubs and seasonal bedding, pruning, small tree works, and any other gardening tasks associated with grounds maintenance.
• Follow and adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
• If you are gas, electrical or carpentry certified that will be an advantage and will carry a higher rate of pay.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week

Salary: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
