Centre Manager

We are looking for a Centre Manager at our Bushmills Centre

Creative Gardens run four Garden Centres with Cafes in Northern Ireland. The emphasis is on quality and style and creating an inspirational and relaxing environment for customers to visit and shop.

A happy team is the essential ingredient as are the beautiful plants and seasonal displays. Delicious, freshly made home cooked food is served in our cafes.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the Garden Centre to ensure that daily tasks are set and achieved, encouraging productivity on an individual basis. The Centre Manager will also support the Café Manager, when required, to ensure smooth running of the Café and its team.
• Oversee all aspects of staffing from interviews to reviews and disciplinaries.
• Manage the weekly work requirement for the site team. This includes staff hours, rotas, holidays & shift cover.
• Lead and inspire the team, motivate, and ensure a happy environment is maintained.
• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered in all areas, in particular at tills.
• Awareness of onsite health & safety, reporting issues to the Group General Manager.
• Assist with the management of stock control via EPOS e.g. oversee the stock take biannually, regular stock & price checks, purchase orders are dealt with in a timely & efficient manner.

Skills and Requirements

• The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience managing a Retail or Hospitality Business.
• Excellent communication skills. You'll ensure that Group Managers, and the Directors if required, are communicated with daily, and ensuring the team all communicate well with you and the Assistant Managers.
• Excellent communication skills & strong people management skills.
• Proficient in the use of IT, in particular Microsoft Office packages and EPOS tills system.
• Must be able to demonstrate good knowledge of Health and Safety
• It would be desirable that you have an interest in Gardening, and retail in general.

Package

Working week will include one weekend day and will require flexibility.

Salary £30,576 based on a 42 hour week – (all extra hours are paid)
