Driver's Mate

Bridgman is a leading quality, luxury furniture retailer with a 45-year heritage in British design. Bridgman’s vision is to move away from solely garden furniture but create a presence within and around the home year-round.

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative/Drivers mate to join the team. The role will sit within Operations and report directly to the Warehouse Manager. We are looking for someone with experience working as a driver’s mate and some customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

● Ensuring Bridgman's furniture is delivered to customers in perfect condition

● Contacting customers ahead of the delivery to inform them in a professional manner

● Collecting deliveries from the warehouse and delivering them to customers

● Making sure deliveries are packed correctly and taken care of when handling products

● Working to deadlines - ensuring all deliveries are made on time

● Loading and unloading deliveries

● Removing packaging from customers’ sites

● Assemble furniture on site

● Ensuring all goods are labelled and stored correctly

● Keeping the vans, warehouses, and premises tidy and organised

● Always follow health and safety guidelines

● Ad hoc duties as per manager’s instructions

Key skills:

● Excellent customer services

● Strong team player

● Ideally, prior experience in a driver’s mate role

● A good telephone manner as you will be calling customers while on route

● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

● Must be comfortable in a physical role

● Prioritise the safety of yourself and those around you

Hours: 40 hour week

Hourly rate: £11ph

Location: Brimsdown, Enfield
