Laboratory Assistant

You will be working within a small team supporting a wide range of Environmental Fate tests. Training will be given in all aspects of the role which include: preparation of environmental test systems (soil, sediment, water and sludge), set-up and maintenance of laboratory equipment, general laboratory and housekeeping duties. Responsibilities of your role may vary dependent on qualifications and relevant experience.

Tests are designed to help evaluate the potential risks of new and existing substances to the environment resulting from the manufacture and use of pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and agrochemicals.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally have laboratory experience or educated to GCSE, A-level or equivalent in chemistry or a related scientific subject.

Interested applicants should have good IT skills, be well-organised, enthusiastic and demonstrate a hands-on approach to work with an ability to use their initiative and apply knowledge. Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential.
