Meat & Fish Cutting & Packing Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong customer service skills to join our store on a permanent basis. Previous experience in fresh meat and fish prepping and packing is desirable but not essential.

About the Role

As a meat / fish counter assistant, you will be responsible to prepare fresh products for retail sale by performing various duties including cutting, trimming and packaging meat and fish.

Duties include but not limited to:

· Preparing and cutting meat and fish from wholesale portions into steaks, chops, fillets, and other cuts

· Cleaning and preparing the work area in line with food hygiene requirements

· Stock replenishment and best before date checks

· Stock ordering

· Heavy lifting to move stock and replenish

· Adhering to food safety and hygiene policies and procedures

· Additional duties as required for the role

Requirements:

· Must be comfortable with working with fresh meat (including pork) and fish

· Strong communication and customer service skills

· Previous experience in a retail environment will be an advantage

· Must have the legal right to work in the UK (without sponsorship)
