HGV Class 1 Driver

A long-established family business based at Mellor Brook, Blackburn

We are looking to recruit a Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver to join our team, working from our depot at Mellor Brook Nr Blackburn

The position involves making deliveries and collections for our various customers nationwide.

Must be prepared for nights away, however this is not tramping - average 2 -3 nights out a week.

What we need from you:

- Must hold full CAT C+E (Class1) licence - ideally for at least 2 years

- Must have a valid Digital Tachograph Card

- Must hold a valid Drivers Qualification Card (CPC Card)

- Must have a good level of English - speaking, reading and writing.

- General haulage experience preferred

- Reliable, punctual, with a good flexible work ethic.

- Good knowledge of the UK road network

- Applicants to live locally to the Blackburn/ Preston area

Your responsibilities will include:

- General driving duties. Carrying out deliveries for our various customers throughout the UK.

- Maintaining the security of load.

- Carrying out daily walk round checks on the vehicle

- Comply with legislation regarding vehicle safety, tachographs, driving hours and working time.

- Accurately complete all relevant paperwork
