Allinghams is a family owned butchers that has been in business for over 100 years. It is a small but very busy shop that prides itself in great local meat and the best customer service. We have a relaxed and friendly work environment in the centre of Hitchin.

We are looking for an experienced Butcher to join our small, friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products according to customer specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the butchering industry, knowledge of food safety standards, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Use knives, saws, and other cutting tools to cut, trim, and shape meat.
• Prepare meat for sale by weighing, wrapping, and pricing.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety protocols.
• Understand the different cuts of meat and be able to explain them to customers.
• Keep records of all orders and deliveries.
• Keep track of inventory and order supplies as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £11.00 per hour
