We currently have an opening for a Buyer within our fresh provisions and chilled foods department at our Somercotes Depot. This is a hands-on role that will ensure first class range and availability of fresh and frozen products. Daily routines to support your colleagues in delivering on shelf availability, competitive pricing and a clean and safe environment. Responsible for all food safety checks to ensure full compliance.

To be great in this role, you will be:

· Achieving sales growth through developing new ranges

· Aware of changes to a fast-moving marketplace

· Understanding buying patterns and stock movement to control wastage

· Able and motivated to work individually and part of a team

· Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines

· Be proactive and confident in decision making

· Have excellent attention to detail

· Able to manage a team

Some of the duties include, but are not limited to:

· Provisions/frozen stock ordering and buying on promotion

· Responsible for wastage and ensuring date checks are carried out

· Reducing stock to clear and action out of date stock

· Booking in deliveries and ensuring stock is replenished complying with our merchandising guidelines

· Overseeing deliveries, including unloading, counting and checking stock

· Food safety compliance checks to be actioned

This is a full-time position, and as we are a 7-day operation, some weekend working may be required together with early start times.
