Welder/Fabricator

KPJ Group are looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join an experienced workforce at a well-established engineering company based in Stockport. This is a business that specialises in the production of high-quality fabrications for some of the most notable industries in the country.

The candidate we are looking for will have an understanding of how to read and interpret technical drawings, as well as having experience in the use of either MIG or TIG welding machines.

What’s on offer?

• £13.00 - £14.00 per hour
• Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm / Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm
• Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)
• 22 days holiday

What will you be doing as a Welder/Fabricator?

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Selecting and preparing materials to be welded or fabricated, including cutting, grinding, and drilling
• Setting up and operating welding equipment, such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding machines
• Measuring and marking materials to ensure accurate fabrication and welding
• Assembling and joining metal components using various welding techniques
• Inspecting and testing completed welds to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
• Performing maintenance and repairs on welding equipment as needed
• Collaborating with other team members, such as engineers, designers, or project managers, to complete projects on time and within budget
• Maintaining a safe work environment by following proper safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Continuously improving skills and staying up-to-date on industry developments, trends, and best practices

What do you need?

• Experience in either MIG or TIG welding
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• A strong level of attention to detail
