Role:

We are searching for a Joiner to join our Estates team who are responsible for the high standards of construction and maintenance throughout the Estate.

This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• To carry out joinery work throughout the Estate, ensuring that the expected high standards are met and maintained
• To be responsible for the obligations placed on an employee under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 with respect to building operatives
• Measure up for materials required
• Assist other trades within the post holder’s competence and experience. Carry out such duties required by management
• Completion of worksheets and other documents
• Undertake any training when requested and as and when required
• Any other duties requested by Estates and Project Manager

The Appointed Candidate will have:

• Good general level of education
• First Aid Qualification (Desirable)
• Experience of working in a school environment (Desirable)
• Been Apprentice Trained (Desirable)
• Ability to carry out instructions safely and carefully
• Ability to communicate effectively with other staff
• Ability to make practical suggestions to create, improve and solve problems
• Some knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the role
• Co-operative attitude
